Asian Parents

“It’s not fair!” The teenager screams at the mother. “I am the mother” the mother replied.

Why do we have to apologize for the things we did not do, why do we have to tolerate the things we dislike, why do we even try when we are not appreciated? Why do we have to surrender to the answer- ” I am the parent, you are not”?

Why sacrifice to only receive this sentence?

We did not ask to be born, you created us. You gave us life without us asking.

It’s not fair. But then again, nothing is.
